01
Two true histories
From Lunor's perspective, birth precedes transformation. From the Root's perspective, his Signature has no interval of absence. These statements do not cancel one another; they describe different aspects of one paradoxical history.
02
How earlier appearances work
The setting allows records of Lunor before his original birth, including encounters or echoes connected to the one invariant Signature. This is not proof that countless independent alternate versions of him exist.
03
Consequences
Lunor can be an eyewitness to an impossible era without having ordinary memories of traveling there. His original life can matter personally even after the Root treats him as timeless.
04
Not casual time travel
The original transformation is exceptional. It does not automatically give Lunor unrestricted freedom to alter the past, spawn duplicate bodies, or solve future events by foreknowledge.
