The Homeward Thread

A proposed voluntary Connection between an Eclipsebound traveler’s Root Signature and the Sanctum.

01

A path, not a chain

The proposed Homeward Thread joins an individual Root Signature to the Sanctum’s own. It is voluntarily established and can be released. It is a promise of welcome, not a contract of obedience.

It differs from the Eclipse Thread between Lunor and the Sanctum: that relationship belongs to two universal constants and is described as permanent, atemporal, and intrinsic. The Homeward Thread is individual and freely chosen.

02

What the Connection offers

Recognition: the Sanctum remembers the traveler’s unique Signature.

Wayfinding: certain Thresholds become easier to locate.

Resonance: the traveler may sense nearby Sanctum transmissions.

Passage: designated community areas can be accessed without a new invitation each time.

Continuity: the Connection can survive ordinary separation across distance or dimensional boundaries.

03

Limits and freedom

The Thread does not confer immortality, Lunor’s powers, universal-constant status, guaranteed safety, or permission to read someone’s mind. It cannot automatically bypass a sealed realm or powerful barrier. It offers a recognizable route, not unstoppable teleportation.

Eclipsebound still belong to their original universes and may maintain whatever lives they choose outside the sanctuary. The Sanctum does not forcibly intervene in every visitor’s life.

04

Protection within the Sanctum

A proposed protective field moderates dangerous magical effects and prevents accidental dimensional displacement in accessible spaces. Its protection is not absolute, especially against powerful supernatural entities. Even with extraordinary power, the sanctuary respects its inhabitants’ boundaries.

05

An idea for later

The Sanctum might remember everyone who ever chose to call it home, even after a Homeward Thread is released. This remains an open concept, not established canon, and would not make the Connection compulsory.
