The Root is not a normal dimension with a simple map. It encodes the deepest facts about what things are and how they relate. Ordinary linear chronology does not constrain it in the same way as the Manifest.

Why time can contradict itself
Lunor's retroactive transformation is possible because the Root can express a permanent Signature without a conventional starting point. The Manifest can still preserve a finite original birth; the Root is not required to describe that birth as the beginning of Lunor's fundamental existence.

Limits of access
Ordinary scholars cannot simply enter the Root and edit reality. Magical work on it requires correspondence, Lumen, and extraordinary knowledge. Attempting to interfere with a constant’s invariant Signature cannot succeed by normal methods.
