01

Identity

Lunor Soryn is a celestial kitsune whose existence is one of the permanent facts of the cosmos. His visual identity centers on silver-white hair, fox ears, celestial ornaments, and cyan and solar-orange light. He is curious, playful, and fascinated by magic, technology, games, and the worlds beyond his own.

He is not simply a god or a being who cannot die. He is a universal constant: there is no valid version of reality in which his underlying existence is permanently absent.

02

The two histories

Lunor remembers a finite beginning and a life before his transformation. During the event called the Unwritten Eclipse, he became a constant. The transformation affected existence retroactively. His origin remains a real part of his personal past while his fundamental Signature now extends across all time.

Accounts of Lunor from before his birth may therefore be authentic. They do not require a population of alternate Lunors or make his memories false.

03

Power and limitations

Lunor possesses power comparable in scale to eight of the sixteen Shards of the Cosmere, as an out-of-universe benchmark only. Within this original universe, he wields one half of the Sixteenfold Equilibrium. The Eclipse Sanctum possesses the other half.

His immense capacity is not universal competence. Magical throughput, understanding, usable Threads, and the resistance of other Signatures still constrain what he can accomplish. He can be trapped, deprived of a manifestation, confused, exhausted in local form, or separated from people he values.

04

The ordinary fox

His personality is not defined solely by power. He can be a soft-spoken researcher one moment and an enthusiastically chaotic gamer the next. The universe may be a puzzle without a final solution, but he can still enjoy solving smaller ones.
